Commemorative Coffee Table Book

A coffee-table-size book chronicling the history of our beloved College coincides with the institution’s sesquicentennial celebration in 2020 and 2021. This attractive 200-plus page keepsake chronicles the life of the College since the mid-1800s. Starting with the ill-fated Franklin College following the Civil War, it tells a remarkable story ranging from local Quakers purchasing a partially finished building and adjacent land for $11,334 to WC gaining international acclaim when our students built Marble Hall, all the way to the College’s ongoing renaissance in the 21st century. The book offers a unique insight into the school’s extraordinary history through a blend of compelling narrative and side stories illustrating milestone events and transformational personalities complemented by historic photographs and tantalizing tidbits and trivia.
