Presidential Search Profile & Website
At its first meeting on Jan. 17, the Search Committee reviewed and approved a comprehensive Presidential Search Profile detailing the preferred qualifications and expectations for the College’s next president, along with application instructions. The Committee summarized its aspirations for the next president as:
The new Wilmington president will be expected to build on existing strengths and focus on future development and financial stability, while encouraging academic entrepreneurship, effective collaboration, leadership, and a timely response to both internal and external opportunities in line with the College’s Quaker values.
Additionally, the Committee reviewed and approved a Search Methodology and Timeline. All of these materials are available for your review on the Wilmington College Presidential Search webpage.
Presidential Search Committee Process & Campus Updates
The position posting and application instructions have been posted to major higher education job sites, including HigherEdJobs, Inside Higher Ed, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and DiverseEducation. The position posting and application instructions have also been shared with major Quaker outlets, including the Friends Association for Higher Education and the Friends Journal. Applications are already being received.
The Committee plans to meet regularly and conduct rolling reviews of applications, conducting interviews throughout February. The Board hopes to identify a preferred candidate and extend an offer shortly after the March 2024 meeting of the Board of Trustees. The next two Committee meetings will be held during the weeks of Jan. 29 and Feb. 5. I will share another campus update on the Search’s progress then.
On behalf of the Presidential Search Committee and with gratitude for all you do for Wilmington College.
Sincerely,
Brent Bill, Trustee
