Kelly Center

Kelly Center for Religious Life

Thomas R. Kelly was a noted Quaker theologian and author of the acclaimed Friends' book, A Testament of Devotion. He graduated from WC in 1913 and served on the faculty from 1917 through 1921 before continuing his career at Haverford College, where he was a mentor to future WC professor T. Canby Jones. The building, which was dedicated Oct. 21, 1962, features the 200-seat center known as the McCoy Meeting Room along with classrooms, the T. Marshall Meditation Room, library lounge, small kitchen and faculty offices. Also, the Wilmington Yearly Meeting is headquartered there. Campus Friends Meeting met regularly in the McCoy Room until the T. Canby Jones Meetinghouse went online in 2005.
