Collection of Domestic Vignettes Described as "Slightly Twisted and Completely Hilarious”
Wilmington College Theatre will present the romantic comedy, Love/Sick, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (March 2, 3 and 4), at 7:30 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre.
(PICTURED) Wyatt Henderson and Nina Roberts are having second thoughts about getting married on what was scheduled to be their wedding day.
Director Wynn Alexander describes John Cariani’s play, Love/Sick, as “the eccentric cousin” to the playwright’s work, Almost Maine, which WC Theatre produced in 2012.
Love/Sick features a collection of “slightly twisted and completely hilarious” short plays, he said. “Set on a Friday night in an alternate suburban reality, this quixotic romp explores the pain and the joy that comes with being in love.
“It’s full of imperfect lovers and dreamers,” Alexander added. “Love/Sick is an unromantic comedy for the romantic in everyone.”
The cast features Keni Brown, Shelby Dodds, Jessica Fair, Andrew Haag, Wyatt Henderson, Nick Hutson, Emilia Knisely, Matt Reinhart and Nina Roberts. In addition to Alexander’s direction, Lois Hock designed the set and lighting, with Becky Haines handling the sound and technical direction. Theresa Knopf is stage manager and Kelsey Truex is serving as light board operator, while Haag and Nik Logic are shop assistants and Aaliyah Compton is set/property crew.
Tickets and reservations are available by contacting the Theatre Box Office weekdays, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., at (937) 481-2267.
