Event to Feature Rapper Brotha E-Knock and Local Gospel Groups and Singers
Using the manta, “Get Your Praise On,” gospel ensembles from local churches and a guest rapper will spread the word of God through music at Wilmington College Sunday (March 26), from 2 to 4 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre.
WC’s Activities Programming Board, along with the offices of Campus Ministry, Student Affairs and Multicultural Affairs, are hosting the 2017 Gospel Explosion.
Special guest is gospel rapper Erik Nelson, also known as Brotha E-Knock, a hip-hop performer form San Diego currently living in Iowa City. A rapper since 2005, Brotha E-Knock transitioned from secular music to strictly gospel music with an intent to spread God’s word through his music. His is a message of hope, positivity and love.
Other musical groups include the Faith Family Church Praise Band, Bible Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Randy Zimmerman and Charese Johns of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Elexis Murdock and Ciara McGee of Wilmington Church of Christ and individual artists Karen Jones, Virginia Harris and Chip Murdock.
Local churches will provide refreshments. The event is free of charge.
