WC Communication Arts Students See Broadcast News Legend Dan Rather

Communication Arts
Group Also Tours WSU's Video Production Facilities Several Wilmington College students engaged in a field trip to Dayton Tuesday evening (Jan. 31) to view a presentation by legendary broadcast journalist Dan Rather and tour Wright State University’s video production facilities. (PICTURED) WSU's David Stoneburner shows several communication arts students his operation for video production. Nick Wiget, adjunct instructor on communication arts, led the excursion to Rather’s program at Wright State, where the students gained additional insight into how a live video production is produced. David Stoneburner, WSU’s TV production manager for Computing and Telecommunications Services, led a tour of the Nutter Center and his operation’s set-up for the Rather presentation. Rather’s message relating to these turbulent political times was that it’s alright to be skeptical of government and organizations in seeking the truth, but Americans should not become cynical.
