Emma Marks to Discuss the Death Penalty in Relation to Nations that Experienced British Colonization
A Wilmington College senior will present her senior capstone research paper relating to a unique legacy of the death penalty from several centuries ago as the third event in this fall’s Campus Ministry Quaker Lecture Series at Wilmington College.

Emma Marks, an expected December graduate, will speak on the topic, “Colonization’s Deadly Consequences: Analysis of British Colonization and Death Penalty Retention,” Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in the T. Canby Jones Meetinghouse, Boyd Cultural Arts Center.
She will examine the relationship between a country’s history of British colonization and its use of the death penalty today. Marks is a senior from York, PA, majoring in agriculture communications and political science with a minor in sustainability.
