Ross Hennesy Studies Social Movements, Activism and Religion
Ross Hennesy of Quaker Voluntary Services will speak how the Quaker faith resonates with young people Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m., in T. Canby Jones Meetinghouse.
The assistant director and Philadelphia coordinator of Quaker Voluntary Service will offer a presentation titled “Stages of Spiritual Development: Is Quakerism Only for Old People?” It is free and open to the public.
The Quaker Voluntary Service experience allows young adults to be passionately engaged in service and social justice while being grounded in worship, forming leadership for the present and the future of Friends. This combination of faith and action provides a rich foundation for spiritual growth.
Hennesy became a convinced Quaker in 2004 at Harrisburg Monthly Meeting and has been a member of Germantown Monthly Meeting in Philadelphia since 2007. He completed a master’s program in the Religious Studies Dept. at Temple University, where he studied social movements, activism and religion.
