General Assembly Lauds Museum's 'Positive Contribution'
The Meriam R. Hare Quaker Heritage Center’s 10-year observance this fall didn’t escape the radar of Ohio’s 131st General Assembly, which recognized the museum on Wilmington College’s campus for its impact in the area and throughout the state of Ohio.
Signed by speaker Clifford A. Rosenberger (Dist. 91), the Ohio House of Representatives lauded the Quaker Heritage Center for its celebration of Friends’ “unique history” in southwest Ohio and the United States and praised their contributions nationwide.
“In this modern era in which the durability of goods and values is often measured in months and days rather than years and decades, it is not only enlightening but also satisfying to discover that some representations of the past still stand for future generations as a record of and a monument to previous achievements,” the document read.
“The Meriam R. Hare Quaker Heritage Center has certainly made a positive contribution to the surrounding area, maintaining the rich heritage of bygone days.”
