One-day intensive sessions this fall will help manufacturing, transportation, supply-chain, and warehousing employers turn frontline workers into confident, capable managers.
WILMINGTON, Ohio — Wilmington College’s Office of Workforce & Continuing Education announces the launch of Frontline to Management, a new training series designed to help regional employers prepare frontline employees for the transition into supervisory and management roles.
The program addresses a common and costly challenge for employers: promoting a skilled frontline worker into a leadership role without giving them the tools to succeed. The one-day, eight-hour intensive sessions are built specifically for supervisors and managers in production, manufacturing, and transportation environments and are designed to minimize time away from work while delivering practical, industry-relevant skills.
Sessions will be held on campus in Bailey Hall on Friday, October 9, 2026, and Friday, December 11, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Employers may also request onsite sessions delivered at their own facilities.
The training will be led by Dennis Purcell, former Chief Human Resources Officer for Skidmore Sales and Distributing in Cincinnati, who brings decades of frontline HR and industry leadership experience to the curriculum.
“Too often, we promote our best frontline workers into management without the skill sets they need,” said Eric McLaughlin, Associate Vice President for Workforce Development at Wilmington College. “This series gives new supervisors the practical tools, confidence, and support they need to lead effectively from day one — and it gives employers a faster, more affordable path than sending staff away for training.”
Registration is $1,000 per participant and includes all course materials and a certificate of completion upon finishing the program. Space is limited for each session.
Employers interested in registering supervisors, scheduling an onsite session, or learning more about the program may contact the Office of Workforce & Continuing Education at workforce@wilmington.edu or visit www.wilmington.edu/workforce.
