Men's Soccer and Men's Cross Country Highlight Fall Athletics
The men's soccer team was picked in a preseason coaches' poll to finish in the middle of the pack and ended an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament finalist. Under the leadership of new Head. Coach Cory Bucur, the Fightin' Quakers entered the tournament as the number four seed and trounced Mount Union 4 -0 and upset top-seeded Ohio Northern 2-1, which set up the championship match-up at John Carroll. Sadly, JCU won its fifth consecutive title as. the men's team finished its season with a 12-6-3 mark (5-2-2 in the OAC).

Head Coach Ron Combs' men's cross country team placed third in the OAC for its best finish ever and topped the 30-team field in winning the Wilmington College JennaStrong Fall Classic for the second consecutive year. This weekend, the harriers run at the NCAA Regionals in Michigan with a chance at qualifying as a team for the Nationals. Last year, Simon Heys placed fifth in the nation and would like nothing better than having teammates join him at the NCAA Championship meet.
In other sports. the football team boasts its best record since 2019 and, with a win in the season finale this Saturday, has an opportunity to enjoy its best season since 2008. Volleyball won twice as many matches this fall as last year and women's soccer returned to its winning ways with a 10-8 season record while women's cross country is building for the future.
