Equestrian Wins Regional Horse Show Competition

Lexie Renner and Stingray Heading for National Semifinals This Weekend Wilmington College equestrian Alexandra "Lexie" Renner captured an event championship at last weekend’s (March13) Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Regionals. She is a sophomore from Laura, Ohio, majoring in agriculture. (PICTURED) Lexie Renner displays her championship awards. A member of the College’s equestrian team, Renner won the Intermediate II competition that was broken into two classes with the top four riders from each class qualifying for the final round, which she won. She drew the horse, Stingray, for both classes. In Intermediate II, the riders ride a pattern, which they are given at the start of the show, and then complete their ride on the rail. Renner’s victory qualifies her for the national semifinals March 19 and 20 at the University of Findlay. There, the riders will be broken into separate classes according to their divisions with the top four from each division advancing to the national finals.
