Equestrian Team Takes Third Place at Ohio State

Kalynn Gillum Becomes Team's Fourth Regional Qualifier Wilmington College’s equestrian team continued its successful season with a third place finish in both the morning and afternoon Western shows at Ohio State University last weekend. (PICTURED) Members of the equestrian team pose with their winnings after last weekend's Western show at Ohio State. “This was the last regular show of the year and Wilmington College did really fantastic as a team,” said Bethany Siehr, assistant professor of equine business management. “A special congratulations to Kalynn Gillum who pointed up and will be traveling to regionals next weekend at OSU.” Gillum will join Kelsey Stone, Brianna Akam and Alison Flora as WC’s qualifiers for the March 12 Regional in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. Results from the season’s final team competition are: Allison Flora — Open Class morning and afternoon, 3rd and 3rd; Mikal Porter — Advanced, 3rd and 1st; Ashley Dailey— Novice, 4th and 3rd; Kalynn Gillum — Novice, 7th; Lexi Peterman — Novice, 5th; Adrianna Hibbard — Intermediate II, 3rd and 6th; Victoria Taylor — Intermediate II, 4th and 2nd; Madison McConn — Intermediate II, 4th and 3rd; Maggie Kwiatkowski — Intermediate II, 1st and 5th; Chelsea Argo — Intermediate II, 5th and 6th; Emma Washburn — Intermediate II, 2nd and 6th; Brianna Akam — Intermediate I, 2nd and advanced into Intermediate II; Brianna Akam — Intermediate II, 5th; and Mackenzie Smith — Beginner, 4th and 1st.
