Collegium Musicum to Present Annual Spring Mini-Concert

Performance to Benefit Community Action Food Pantry Wilmington College’s early music ensemble, known as Collegium Musicum, will present its annual Spring Noon-Hour Mini-Concert Thursday (April 21), at noon, in Harcum Art Gallery, Boyd Cultural Arts Festival. The Collegium, directed by Elizabeth Haskins, assistant professor of music, will present a program titled “Dance Early and Often.” A light lunch will be provided. It includes 16th and 17th century dance music and instrumental arrangements of choral music by Georg Telemann, Michael Praetorius, Henricus Isaac, Claudin de Sermisy, Giovanni Cavaccio, Claude Gervaise, two anonymous Italian dances and a selection from Ottoviano Petrucci’s Harmonice Musices Odhecaton, the 1501 collection of the first printed music in the Western world. Audience members are requested to bring nonperishable food items to benefit the Community Action Food Pantry.
