Collegium Musicum Holding Noon-Hour Benefit Concert Thursday

Early Music Group to Present 'Dance and Be Merry' Wilmington College’s early music ensemble known as Collegium Musicum will present its semi-annual, lunch hour mini-concert Thursday (Dec. 3), at noon, in Harcum Art Gallery, Boyd Cultural Arts Center. Under the direction of Elizabeth Haskins, assistant professor of music, the Collegium’s program, titled “Dance and Be Merry,” includes instrumental arrangements of 16th century French, Italian, English and German dances, as well as English, German and Spanish Christmas carols. Since the concert also is held to benefit the Clinton County Homeless Shelter, audience members are encouraged to bring such items for the center as canned goods, cleaning supplies, paper products, trash bags, personal care items and fruit juices for children. The event is free of charge and a light lunch will be available.
