Collegium Musicum Concert to Benefit Community Action Food Pantry
Wilmington College’s Collegium Musicum will present a noon-hour concert featuring dance music from the 16th and early 17th centuries Thursday (April 23), at noon in Harcum Art Gallery, Boyd Cultural Arts Center.
The concert, titled “Renaissance: Take Five,” will benefit the Clinton County Community Action Food Pantry. The event is free of charge and a complimentary light lunch will be available, however, audience members are encouraged to bring donations for the food pantry, such as baby food, diapers, toilet paper, peanut butter, jelly and hygiene products, particularly for women.
The program includes two early American hymns and an English “Masquing Ayre,” in addition to the European dance music, according to director/musician Elizabeth Haskins, assistant professor of music.
Collegium Musicum consists of students, faculty members and alumni that play recorders, violin, hammered dulcimer, acoustic guitar, and hand percussion.
