The College has partnered with Calm to provide students with tools that can help you meditate, relax, focus and improve sleep. Now more than ever, it’s important that we continue to find ways to manage stress and stay strong in the face of uncertainty. Whether you have 30 seconds or 30 minutes every day, Calm’s resources are designed to seamlessly integrate with your schedule and needs.
The Calm App was made possible through a $93,000 grant from the Ohio Dept. of Higher Education in support of mental health services at the state's colleges and universities. The grants is being used to increase campus-wide knowledge and awareness of available care options, increase the availability of care options, remove barriers to care options and be leveraged to create long-term sustainability on campus and support collaborative, community-based programs and initiatives. A part-time counselor has been hired to provide an additional 20 hours a week of mental health services and the College has purchased Mental Health First Aid materials to use in training students, faculty and staff, and 500 licenses for the CALM app will be purchased for student use.
The College's counseling services are located in the Student Health Center, which is part of the Hermann Court/Quaker Recreation Center facility. Contact Kazi McDowell, director of counseling, at (937) 481.2272.
