Wilmington College students Paige Kopiec, a chemistry major, and Mikayla Hicks, a biology major and chemistry minor, recently traveled with chemistry faculty members Dore Meinholtz, Michael Goldcamp and Mark Chrisman to the Oesper Symposium, hosted by the Chemistry Department at the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Section of the American Chemical Society.

The students attended research talks by experts in the field of photochemistry.  Hicks toured the X-ray cyrstallography laboratory, and Kopiec presented a poster on her capstone senior research project, titled "Oxidation of Toluene by Hydrogen Peroxide Using a Nickel (II) Poly-Oximate Catalyst."
