Auditions Set for Jan. 24 and 25 for WC Theatre’s ‘Love/Sick’

Winter Production's Show Dates Are March 2, 3 and 4 Wilmington College Theatre announces the romantic comedy, Love/Sick, as its winter show running March 2, 3 and 4, at 7:30 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre. Auditions for Wilmington College students will be held Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan. 24 and 25), at 7 p.m., in the theatre. No advance preparation is necessary and scripts will be available for cold readings, according to director Wynn Alexander, professor of theatre. Those auditioning are encouraged to attend both sessions to allow for full participation. Alexander describes John Cariani’s play, Love/Sick, as “the eccentric cousin” to the playwright’s work, Almost Maine, which WC Theatre produced in 2012. Love/Sick features a collection of “slightly twisted and completely hilarious” short plays, he said. “Set on a Friday night in an alternate suburban reality, this quixotic romp explores the pain and the joy that comes with being in love. “It’s full of imperfect lovers and dreamers,” Alexander added. “Love/Sick is an unromantic comedy for the romantic in everyone.” In addition to Alexander’s direction, Lois Hock, professor of theatre, is designing the set. Tickets and reservations are available by contacting the Theatre Box Office weekdays, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., at (937) 481-2267.
