Student Employment and Work Study

Student Employment Fast Facts: 

  • Student jobs are not “assigned” by the Career Services Office; students have the responsibility to seek out campus employment. 
  • The standard hourly rate of pay is $12.00. 
  • Some jobs may require Federal Work-Study eligibility. Federal Work-Study is need-based funding offered as part of a student’s federal financial aid offer based on the current year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 
  • All student employees are required to meet and maintain the requirements of Wilmington College’s Academic Good Standing policy. 
  • Student employees are not eligible for traditional benefit packages, but there are other "benefits" like flexible hours, valuable work experience, insight into possible careers, and a better understanding of how the college operates. Student supervisors are important sources of recommendation letters, networking and career advice. 
  • Student employment wages are taxable wages and will be reported to the student employee and Internal Revenue Service on a Wage and Tax Statement (W-2) in January following the end of the previous calendar year.
