Wilmington College Bands

Wilmington College is pleased to announce our commitment to the growth, expansion, and promotion of our newly emerging band programs. This initiative is a result of both student interest in pursuing instrumental music activities and the College's responsibility to continue promotion of the musical arts on our campus and in the Wilmington community.

Wilmington College continues to take positive steps on its path to enhance the Quaker Thunder Pep Band, which has grown in both size and quality.

Quaker Thunder Pep Band

The Wilmington College “Quaker Thunder” Pep Band is comprised of students from across various academic disciplines on campus. The band performs at several events throughout the spring semester, primarily cheering on our Quaker Basketball teams during home games. Students may also have opportunities to travel for select "away game" performances, based on attendance, academic eligibility, and seniority. Membership is open to all students, regardless of academic interest, with experience playing a standard band instrument:

Some of these instruments can be provided by the College for a small fee, or rented for the duration of the school year from the local music store. School-owned instruments are signed out on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to students who participated in a fall semester ensemble.

In addition, students who specialize or double on auxiliary instruments have opportunities to play these instruments in a concert setting:
