Casey Hess '20
Casey was recently awarded for her collaborative practice. Casey graduated in 2019 and was accepted into the Miami University Master of Social Work (MSW) Program. She conducted her Master’s Field Placement with Companions on a Journey as a Bereavement Specialist. Casey was very successful in her graduate program and earned her MSW in 2020. She passed her Licensed Social Worker (LSW) exam and is now and LSW. Her plans are to work toward her Licensed Independent Social Work (LISW) qualifications next. She was able to overcome multiple COVID-19 employment obstacles and find an amazing job with Premier Health: Miami Valley Hospital in July. Casey is a medical social worker, working on the neurology floor. She provides patients with discharge planning to inpatient rehabilitation for rehab or skilled nursing facilities. She works with families to determine their hospice needs, level of care and the different companies/services available to them and their loved ones. Casey also provides referrals for domestic violence, health care power of attorney, medication assistance and more. She works closely with hospice, doctors, families and nurses to create the best plan of care for her patients. Casey shared that she absolutely LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her coworkers. They lean on each other during good and bad times and are always there for each other. She loves her job as a medical social worker. It is fast-paced and every day is different. Her hope is to one day transition to a Hospice Social Worker. She is also obsessed with her Dog, Penny Lane.
Bailey Jenkins '19
Bailey graduated from Wilmington College in 2019 and was accepted into the Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) accelerated Masters of Social Work (MSW)program. She graduated recently with her MSW degree from IWU. She began the process of applying for her Social Work License where she passed her Licensed Social Worker (LSW) exam and was awarded her LSW license - Go Bailey! She worked for some time with Phoenix Integrated Health in their adult addictions and mental health programs. Bailey began a new job working for Solutions in Wilmington as a school-based therapist at Wilmington's High School and Middle School. She shared that she is absolutely loving it!
Jocelyn Kuha '20
Jocelyn graduated in 2020 with a major in Social Work and a minor in Business Administration. She currently works for Highland County Community Action - OhioMeansJobs in Hillsboro, Ohio. Jocelyn is the Workforce Specialist for their Job Club program, which works with individuals who are receiving any type of cash or food assistance and are required to do work search activities in order to receive benefits. She also provides clients with services addressing job searches/applications, employment training (workplace etiquette, skill building, etc.), resume writing, interviewing practice/preparation and career building/exploration. Jocelyn completes many different assessments with her clients that help them explore what type of career field they might want to work in. This is a small sampling of what her program offers in her community. She shared that she absolutely loves her job and the people she gets to work with!
Molly Scroggy '19
Molly graduated in 2019 with a major in Social Work and a minor in Sociology. She has been working with Help Me Grow, a program that supports pregnant women, caregivers with new babies and families with young children who have developmental delays and disabilities. Molly serves families in both Clinton and Highland Counties (Ohio). She shared that she loves the work she does with Help Me Grow, and that getting to interact each day with infants and toddlers is so much fun. Molly loves helping first-time moms learn about parenting, alnd connecting them with resources in the community. Molly plans to apply for her Licensed Social Worker license in the near future. She is currently working on planning her wedding. Congratulations Molly!
Shaylee Carson '19
Shaylee graduated from Wilmington College in 2019. She completed her field placement at The Ranch of Opportunity in Washington Court House, Ohio, working with adolescent girls in their residential program. Shaylee shared that she loves the social work world so much! After graduation she moved to Fairfield, Ohio, and began working with Pressley Ridge where she is a Family Service Coordinator. She started out completing family preservation work in Butler County, Ohio, and in October 2020, she transferred to their Clermont County office, where she works with teens aged 12 to 17. Her agency does community-based work with teens on probation and their families to combat negative behaviors at home, school and in their community. Shaylee says every day is something different, which makes it exciting! She has applied to take the Licensed Social Worker exam and plans to attend graduate school to obtain a Master of Social Work in the near future. Shaylee says her company is seriously amazing!

Rachel Avery '20
Rachel graduated from Wilmington College with a major in Social Work and a minor in Psychology in May of 2020. Rachel is happy to share that she recently got married and has been super busy working full-time and completing her Master in Social Work degree - Congratulations Rachel! She was enrolled in the accelerated Master of Social Work program at Indiana Wesleyan University and graduated in December 2021. Rachel is employed as a Registered Behavioral Technician and provides applied behavior analysis school-based services at the Positive Solutions Behavior Group in Beavercreek, Ohio. She works daily with children who have been diagnosed with autism. Rachel's plans include preparing to take the Licensed Social Worker exam and pursuing a career in medical social work or school social work.
