Acclaimed Quaker author J. Brent Bill will present the academic year’s first program in the Wilmington College Office of Campus Ministry’s Quaker Lecture Series on Oct. 16, at 7 p.m., in the T. Canby Jones Meetinghouse in Boyd Cultural Arts Center. The event is free of charge.
Bill, a recorded Religious Society of Friends minister who is also a WC alumnus and chair of its Board of Trustees, will speak on “Kindness as Radical Resistance.”
He is a member of Spirituality & Practice's "Living Spiritual Teachers Project" and has authored or co-authored more than two dozen books, including Life Lessons from a Bad Quaker: A Humble Stumble Toward Simplicity and Grace, Sacred Compass: The Way of Spiritual Discernment, and Holy Silence: The Gift of Quaker Spirituality. His 26th book, Amity: Stories from the Heartland, was published in 2023. The Englewood Review of Books named his book, Beauty, Truth, Life and Love, as one of the best Faith in Practice books of 2019.
