Music City Mystique Rehearsing at WC for World Championships

Renowned Percussion Ensemble Seeking Ninth Title Strains of drums and other percussion instruments emanating from Hermann Court and areas near the physical education complex can be heard throughout campus this week as the Music City Mystique is rehearsing for the Winter Guard International Percussion World Championships in Dayton. The world-renowned, 46-member, theatrical percussion ensemble based in Nashville is an eight-time world champion. It is celebrating its 25th year in 2019. The group is designed as a positive, educational activity for young musicians between 14 and 22 years of age. It has performed around the world and has been a fixture at Tennessee Titans football games. Music City Mystique will be on campus today and Wednesday before starting competition Thursday at University of Dayton Arena. The WGI Percussion World Championships continue through Saturday.
