Promoted from assistant professor to associate professor are three faculty members who started at WC in 2017. They are Dr, Mark Chrisman, associate professor of chemistry; Dr, Brianna Matzke, associate professor of music; and Dr. Daryl Nash, associate professor of agriculture. Tenure essentially ensures the opportunity for continuous employment throughout one's career, as well as faculty members' academic freedom in teaching and research.

The College also approved faculty sabbaticals for Dr. Angela Mitchell, professor of business administration and a member of the faculty since 2002; Dr. Ursula McTaggart, professor of English, 2008; and Dr. Stephen Potthoff, professor of religion and philosophy, 2003.
