Employees' Longevity Spans a Collective 432 Years
Wilmington College honored more than two-dozen employees — whose service to the institution totals a whopping 432 years — during the Opening Year Meeting of faculty and staff earlier this month.

“It’s important we have a chance to recognize these milestones,” Interim President Erika Goodwin said during the virtual meeting. “I greatly appreciate the people who work here everyday transforming the lives of our students.”
Recognized for 35 years of service were Dr. Monte Anderson, professor of agriculture; Steve Spirk, women's soccer coach and director of special events; and David Rupp, carpenter; 30 years — Vince Duggins, plumbing supervisor; and Dr. Bernard Matt, professor of religion/philosophy and English.
25 years — Dana Andrews, head groundskeeper; Eileen Bowman, coordinator of office services, Physical Plant; Dr. Erika Goodwin, interim president and professor of athletic training; Randall Sarvis, senior director of public relations.
20 years — Gary McCoy, supervisor of the Mail Room; Chip Murdock, director of diversity/inclusion and service/civic engagement; and Dr. Michael Snarr, professor of political science; 15 years — Dr. Russell Kincaid, professor of mathematics; 10 years — Michael Allbright, associate vice president for student affairs; Mary Beth Corcoran, manager of the Media Center; Dr. Victoria DeSensi, associate professor of psychology; Adam Lohrey, director of admission; and Jill Young, director of health services.
Five years — Brik Anderson, assistant groundskeeper; Steve Cukovecki, senior admission counselor; Dr. Savitha Krishna, associate professor of biology; Dr. Chad McKay, assistant professor of agriculture; Heather Miller, assistant director of admission; Micah Mills, assistant head men's basketball coach and director of intramurals; Dr. Audrey Wagstaff, associate professor of communication arts and social science; and Timothy Wiederhold, student success coach, Title III Team.
Becky Haines, fine arts secretary and theatre technician who started working at WC some 47 years ago, continues to hold the distinction as the longest serving employee.
