Rachel Reinhart and Jeffrey Clydesdale Named to OATA/GLATA Posts Rachel Reinhart and Jeffrey Clydesdale’s investment in scholarship and leadership at Wilmington College has paid dividends already as they were elected to offices with professional athletic training associations. PICTURED: Rachel Reinhart and Jeffrey Clydesdale are pictured in the College's Athletic Training Clinic. Reinhart is president-elect of the Ohio Athletic Training Association’s (OATA) Student Senate and secretary of the Great Lakes Athletic Training Association (GLATA) Student Senate while Clydesdale is the OATA’s new southeast district representative and will handle its public relations and webmaster duties. Reinhart is a senior from Hilliard while Clydesdale, a sophomore from Circleville, will enter fall 2018 as a junior. She sees the leadership positions as a means for serving her future profession. “Also, I’ll be able to network and meet a lot of influential people in the field,” Reinhart said, noting she’s confident that professionals on the GLATA board will be “good mentors” for her. “And it’s also a way for me to develop my public speaking and leadership skills.” Clydesdale, who is engaged in a six-month athletic training internship with the Cincinnati Reds, concurred with his classmate’s anticipation for the networking opportunities. “I’ve always wanted to get into leadership, especially in my major,” he said. Jennifer Walker, associate professor of athletic training, said their elections to office represent the greatest involvement and highest offices attained by any WC athletic training student in the program’s history. “Rachel and Jeff are especially ambitious and involved students, and I hope that continues as they move into their professions,” she said. “Their elections will head start their leadership roles for their future in athletic training.”
