I joined Wilmington College in 1991. Before that, I received a PhD in physical chemistry in 1985 from Duke University, was a post-doc for one year at Penn State, a post-doc with some lecturing for three years at Ohio State, and worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor for two years at Eckerd College. I decided in graduate school that teaching was what I wanted to end up doing, and the two years at Eckerd confirmed that fact. I've been annoying students here ever since I got here, although to my considerable surprise, I received the Student Government Teaching Award in Spring '15. (I'm still not quite certain how that happened.)
