Hands-On Learning. Hands-On Living.

"Hands-On" Promise

At Wilmington College, we are dedicated to your passion for hands-on learning. Our community-of-doing will place you in the center of the learning experience, unlocking your potential and opening doors. Students will leave with thousands of hours of practical application – now that’s learning by doing.

We are dedicated to you and your abilities. We believe in your ability to change the world. Be hands-on, act and build our tomorrow. The future is yours. Every generation has an opportunity to shape society and build the world. Now it’s your turn. Show your pride. Make a difference. Wilmington College carries on through you.

Here's Exactly How We Do It

Hands-On Learning

WC ties theory and classroom lectures with the experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom. These not only enhance learning but also serve to make graduates more marketable.

Small Size

With 1,100 undergraduates, we are able to create a true “home away from home,” with a real sense of belonging and commitment to each individual student.

Focus on Undergraduates

Unlike large universities with many graduate programs, we have chosen to primarily serve undergraduates.

Attractive Student to Faculty Ration

Our 18-to-1 ratio is hard to beat. So when we say lots of personal attention, we have the data to prove it.

Dedicated Faculty

Our professors have chosen to teach here because they want to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives. So they don’t just teach – they mentor and serve as academic advisors to students within their majors

No Teaching Assistants

All our students are taught by faculty – never graduate assistants or teaching assistants who are required to do so as part of their own academic programs.

Values Driven Learning

In over 140 years of educating young adults, we have found that this approach creates graduates who lead successful, meaningful lives that make a difference.

Student Body

Of our 1,100 students, over 800 live on campus. Currently, most students are from Ohio with 19 other states and 5 foreign countries represented. We have a 54%- 46% female-to-male ratio, and 12% students of color that enhance our diverse population.

Religious Diversity

Although founded by Quakers, we welcome all religious identifications. Quaker values reflect universal spiritual principles that support positive character development for students of all orientations, and our student body in this diverse way.
