Title IX

Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX states that:

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” (Ed.gov)

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is the designated agent of the College with primary responsibility for coordinating the College’s Title IX compliance efforts. The Title IX Coordinator’s responsibilities include overseeing all Title IX complaints and identifying and addressing any patterns or systemic problems that arise during the review of such complaints. The Title IX coordinator oversees sexual harassment investigations, grievance procedures, the disposition of complaints, provides educational materials and training on Title IX, and generally provides guidance and ensures a fair process for individuals involved in Title IX complaints.

If the Title IX Coordinator has a conflict of interest in handling the Title IX matter at issue, the Director of Human Resources will act as the alternate Title IX coordinator for that matter.
