Perennial gardening takes a slower route to the survival of the species. Some of the plants will only produce foliage in the first couple of years, in order to build a strong foundation and then bloom in subsequent years. A perennial gift is no different. These gifts are generally made by supporters who have given annually to WC, but as time progresses they want to make a bigger difference. They discover that they can do more without having to sacrifice now.
In many cases these gifts can save significant tax savings too. This kind of gift could create more impact than you might have thought was possible. If there is a particular interest or program you would like to support indefinitely, then consider how a perennial gift might work for you.
Annual plants have a lifecycle that last through just one year. They start as seeds and will bloom only once before producing seeds. Many of these provide vibrant color to a garden and will bloom for a long time. An annual gift is very similar. A supporter will make this gift which enhances the operation of the College in the year it is made.
These are the gifts that help purchase academic materials for a classroom, send hundreds of students to take a hands-on approach to advocacy through our Washington D.C. Lobby trips, and will provide new uniforms for an athletic program. Without your support, Wilmington College would not be able to offer the excellent academic, cultural, and extra-curricular programs it does.
