Jena holds a master’s degree in Special Education from Western Governors University and a bachelor’s degree in Education and History from Wilmington College. Jena has been the Resident Director/Office Manager for Housing and Residence Life at WC for three and half years. Jena also has been an adjunct instructor for GL125. Prior to working at WC, Jena served as a Student Resource Specialist at the University of Phoenix. In addition, she taught and advised students at Corp Solutions of Dayton through AmeriCorps.
Student Success Coaches advise a smaller, at risk group of students. The Student Success Coach position extends beyond the traditional academic intervention model and is designed to provide integrated coordination between retention assessment, student placement, academic advising, and student support services. Jena participates in three major areas of responsibility: student assessment and placement, coordination of services and support, and campus engagement and advocacy.
