As a CPA and JD, Ed incorporates a strong history of accounting and tax law experience in his teachings at Wilmington College. In addition to being a business owner himself (edbesong.com), Ed engages in community development and education initiatives in his native Cameroon (besongsmile.org). Ed recently worked for Alvarez & Marsal in their New York office as a M&A Tax Associate where he conducted buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence and structuring on S and C Corporation and LLCs, including participation in specialized tax research and modeling, to tax filing, debt restructuring, and reviews of the tax implications of deductions and acquisition agreements. Prior to Alvarez & Marsal, Ed worked for Goldman Sachs in their New York office as an International Tax Analyst. In addition to tax preparation and review, Ed provided foreign tax treaty research, planning and sourcing. He also advised on tax treatments for alternative investments, private equity firms, and publicly-traded partnerships.
Ed and his wife Kate (a WC 2013 Alum) spend time between southwest Ohio and New York City, where they enjoy spending time with their nieces and nephews.”
