Amanda McKay

Adjunct Professor of Agriculture,
Agriculture

Amanda McKay is an Adjunct Professor of Agriculture. She was born and raised on a large family farm in Southwest Ohio raising corn and soybeans. She holds a Masters of Science in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Science and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is also an Alumni of Wilmington College with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture and History with a Chemistry Minor. Prior to Wilmington College, Amanda was a Teaching and Research Assistant in the department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Science at Virginia Tech from 2013-2015. Amanda is currently employed full time as the District Administrator for the Greene Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD). At Greene SWCD, she works closely with federal, state, and local partners to get conservation practices on the ground in rural and urban settings, while providing conservation and agricultural education to all ages. Amanda resides in Wilmington with her husband, Chad McKay and their Scottish Terrier, Delco.  In their spare time, Amanda enjoys collecting and restoring antique farm machinery, golfing, and traveling.
