Wilmington College Theatre to Present the Musical Comedy ‘Nunsense’

Nunsense, the Mega-Musical Is "Hilarious Talent Show" Staged by the Survivors of the Little Sisters of Hoboken Nunnery Rehearsals are ongoing for Wilmington College Theatre’s presentation of the musical comedy Nunsense, the Mega-Musical Nov. 19, 20 and 21, at 7:30 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre. Wynn Alexander is directing the show with Lois Hock providing set design and Becky Haines light and sound design. With book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin, Nunsense is a winner of Outer Critics' Circle awards for the best off-Broadway musical. It has been described as a “hilarious talent show” staged by the survivors of the Little Sisters of Hoboken nunnery. The rest of the sisterhood succumbed to botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by the cook. The remaining "Little Hobos" parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise funds so that the last four of the dearly departed can be buried. Critics raved about the show: “The script pulses with merriment and an unabashed desire to make you laugh, with songs and spontaneous comic interludes paced at break-neck speed.” “Amid the merriment is a riotous audience participation quiz that has everyone rolling in the aisles.” “Nunsense offers a cornucopia of hilarity for the whole family — proving conclusively that nun rhymes with fun!” The cast features: Victoria Martini as the Rev. Mother Regina, Keni Brown as Sister Hubert, Theresa Knopf as Sister Robert Anne, Carly Pritchard as Sister Leo, Gina Beck as Sister Amnesia, Andy Haag as Sister Julia, Shelby Dodds as Sister Brendan, Jessica Fair as Sister Luke, Emily Knisely as Sister Wilhelm, Nina Roberts as Sister Francis, Amber Chaney as Sister John, Tevin Amburgy as Sister Peter and Stryker Stock as Brother Virgil.
