Group Includes Alumni, Local Residents, Quakers
Six new members joined the ranks of Wilmington College trustees when the Board held its annual fall meetings in mid-October.

President Jim Reynolds expressed his pleasure with the newest group of trustees.
“Each of these new Board members brings a wealth of experience and background, along with a commitment to the value of independent higher education represented by Wilmington College,” he said. “I look forward to working with them and seeking their wise counsel as the Board helps chart the course for this very special and distinct institution.”
Isaacs is director of development with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. A Quaker and Board member of the Women’s City Club of Greater Cincinnati, she is an advocate for social justice and has worked on international development in such locales as Zimbabwe, India and Burundi.
Garvey, a Quaker from southeastern Michigan, is a member of the Class of 1965. She is a retired educator and longtime private tutor with two master’s degrees and a long history of voluntary service for the benefit of young people through her work with Girl Scouts, prison ministry, her church and international outreach activities. She is a former, recent member of WC’s President’s Advisory Council and is the 2015 recipient of the College’s John Frazier Volunteer Service Award.
McKay is a Quaker and lifelong resident of Clinton County with numerous relatives who are Wilmington College alumni. The business development officer for Wilmington Savings Bank, he is a very active member of the Wilmington community, serving on Wilmington City Council, Clinton County Regional Planning Committee, Wilmington Friends Meeting Board of Trustees and as a member of the Antique Power Club and Junior Fair Livestock Sales Committee.
Peterson is another local Quaker who is very active with Wilmington Friends Meeting. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in agriculture from The Ohio State University and is deputy director of the Clinton County Board of Elections. Peterson formerly served as staff accountant with the Clinton County Auditor’s Office and was farm and business administrator with the Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
Terrell Simmons is a native of Clinton County and member of a Quaker family. After teaching several years at Wilmington High School, she engaged in a 35-year career in market research for Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical , financial and packaged goods sectors. She holds two Master of Business Administration degrees and currently resides in North Carolina.
Summers is a 1965 graduate of Wilmington College who began a career in social services in Ohio and Pennsylvania before joining the ranks of college faculty in Harrisburg, Pa. She holds Master of Arts degrees in history and clinical psychology and taught human services and history courses at Harrisburg Area Community College, from where she retired and maintains the rank of professor emerita. She also is the author of several books, including Fundamentals of Case Management Practice, which is in its fifth edition and sells internationally.
