New Staff Members Touch upon All Areas of Campus

Support Staff and Administrators Bring Their Talents to WC Wilmington College’s new support staff and administrators have a reach from the Cincinnati Branch and Watson Library to admission, advancement, athletics, the Business Office and informational technology. New support and administrative staff members include Brian Hickam, director of Watson Library, who started in early August. Brian comes to WC from Benedictine University, Springfield, Ill., where he served as library director. He has 16 years of experience as an academic librarian and has performed library outreach to numerous student cohorts in academia. Brian has a Master of Science in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh and this fall expects to complete his Master of Science degree in management and organizational behavior from Benedictine. His undergraduate degree is in British and American literature from Washington University in St. Louis. A four-year Student Ambassador while attending WC, Timothy Wiederhold is the newest admission representative. Tim, who held an admission internship last semester, was a recognized campus leader as evidenced by his selection for the 2015 Robert E. Lucas Student Leadership Award last spring. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education studies and history. In the College Advancement area, Patricia Plank is the new director of planned and estate giving. She started this week. Patricia has more than 25 years of experience in business development in the for-profit sector, as well as eight years in the non-profit sector. She also brings eight years of planned giving experience and 10 in estate planning education. Patricia is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Grant Writers Professionals Association. She will maintain an office at the Blue Ash campus. Tiffany Boris is hardly new anymore as she joined the Business Office last fall as staff accountant, a position in which she reconciles accounts, posts journal entries and provides report for various campus entities. Tiffany, an employee at National Bank & Trust from 2007 to 2014, graduated from WC in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and concentration in management. Paul Mandelstein is the new network technician in IT. He is a graduate of ITT Tech and, before coming to WC in May, served as a support technician with Staples. The newest staff member in IT is Michael Roush, who arrived in late August as the new customer service coordinator in which he coordinates the activities of the Help Desk. He has worked as a technology coordinator in public education and served as an adjunct faculty member at Southern State Community College. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christian ministry and Bible from Kentucky Christian University and he studied comparative religions on the graduate level at Cincinnati Christian University. Scott Pena is the new recruitment and enrollment specialist at the Cincinnati Branch. A veteran of the U.S. Navy with managerial experience in the retail sector, he was a senior enrollment/military, Certified Enrollment Representative with the University of Phoenix. He holds both an Associate and Bachelor of Science degree in liberal arts from Excelsior College and a Master of Arts in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. Brik Anderson is the newest member of the Physical Plant staff. Brik is a 2008 WC graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree and, in 2013, earned another bachelor’s degree, this a Bachelor of Science at Utah State University with a major in plant science and minor in agronomy. Brik has worked a number of summers for the College doing landscaping and work in the campus flower gardens. Others new to campus include part-time Campus Safety officer Cameron Quigley, along with coaches that have been introduced in more detail via stories on the athletics Website: Christopher Harris, assistant football; Micah Mills, assistant men’s basketball; Timothy O’Brien, head volleyball; Samantha Schlaegal, assistant women’s basketball; Bradley Watkins, assistant football; Tanner Wilcox, assistant football; and Andy Szucs, assistant men’s soccer.
