Nathaniel Hughes: ‘Yesterday, I Was a Freshman, Then I Blinked, and Now I’m Getting Ready to Graduate’

SENIOR SALUTES Honor Wilmington College's Graduating Seniors Senior Nathaniel Hughes recalls the close bonds he formed as a member of the men's soccer team for three years and two more in Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. "I'll never forget all the countless memories I was able to create with my teammates and close friends. I will cherish them for the rest of my life," he said. PICTURED: The sky is the limit for Nathaniel Hughes. "My Wilmington experience allowed me meet some of best people and to become the person that I am today — I’m truly thankful for everything." Nathaniel is an athletic training major from Findlay, Ohio. He relishes the hands-on learning experience he gained working as a student athletic trainer with the Cincinnati Reds. "I would have never thought I would get the chance to have an internship with a professional baseball team," he said, "If you would’ve have told me that my freshman year, I wouldn’t have believed you." He hopes that premier experience and his education will help him land a job as a high school athletic trainer or with a professional baseball team. With his College Commencement just weeks away, he advises future students to live in the moment each day and make their WC experience the best it can be. "Never take the time for granted," he added. "It seems just like yesterday I was a freshman walking on campus and then I blinked. Now I’m getting ready to graduate." SENIOR SALUTES are the result of Wilmington College's graduating seniors completing an online survey requesting them to look back on their time at WC and share favorite memories, especially meaningful events/relationships and how their time at the College has impacted them.
