Collegiate Horse Judging Team Competes Against Large Universities

Team Competes at Columbus Meet Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas A&M — these aren’t exactly small colleges with student populations of just over 1,000. PICTURED: Ali Davis, Bekka Rapp, Dylan McKee and Haley Voehringer travel as a team at the Columbus horse judging competition.  Yet, Wilmington College’s horse judging team held its own in competition with these major universities with major equine and equestrian programs when they traveled to Columbus for a recent AQHA Collegiate Judging Contest. “I’m just so darn proud of how these young ladies presented themselves and represented the College,” said Bethany Siehr, team coach and assistant professor of equine business management. The results include: Overall — 23th Ali Davis, 24th Bekka Rapp, 26th Dylan McKee and 31st Haley Voehringer; Individual Halter — 17th Rapp, 18th McKee, 32nd Voehringer and 35th Davis; Individual Performance — 14th Davis, 25th Rapp, 28th Voehringer and McKee; and Individual Reasons — 15th Rapp, 19th Davis, 27th McKee and 31st Voehringer.
