Wilmington, Ohio (May 3, 2023) – Earlier this year, Wilmington College and Dr. Trevor M. Bates mutually agreed that Dr. Bates leaving his position at the College was in the best future interest of both the College and Dr. Bates. That separation was effective March 31, 2023. The College expresses its thanks to Dr. Bates for his contributions to the College during his tenure. The College wishes him well in his future endeavors. Dr. Bates expresses his thanks to Wilmington College for the opportunity to serve as the College’s first African-American President and professor of sport sciences. Dr. Bates is grateful for his time with the exceptional students of Wilmington College who will lead and serve their communities.
