Who doesn’t love toys and games?! “Knick Knacks & Knowledge” is an interactive student-produced exhibit featuring a wide range of toys from the Quaker Heritage Center’s collection. Roll the dice, test your knowledge, and have some fun! New to the Quaker Heritage Center for this exhibit, we’re kicking off an exhibit loyalty card, thanks to our fantastic community partner, Kava Haus!

November 1 through November 5 – Alpha Phi Kappa Toy Drive
January 24, 7:30 p.m. – Buckeye Boys and Girls – Join Susan Talbot-Stanaway, retired Director of the Zanesville Museum of Art, as she uses images of masterwork paintings, vintage photographs, historic clothing, antique toys, books, quilts and sports equipment to recount the stories of Ohio children, 1840s to our own time. From America’s first toy electric train to the iconic Etch-A-Sketch, all of the objects were invented, created, or made in Ohio.
February 14, 7:30 p.m. – Game Time! – Bring your favorite board game, card game, or role-playing game to share! We’ll be playing games, having snacks, and exploring the exhibit during this event, which is hosted by the Quaker Leader Scholars of Wilmington College.
March 7, 7:30 p.m. – Have you ever wondered how to best care for your family’s treasures for generations to come? How can you pass along the history of your great-grandfather to future generations through the toys he had as a child? Join the Ohio History Services Corps Member for a how-to discussion on caring for your heirloom toys. Learn some simple tips and tricks for caring for these family treasures to help them last for generations to come. This workshop has the potential of 2 punches on the “Knick Knacks & Knowledge” loyalty card we’ve partnered with Kava Haus to provide! You get 1 punch for just showing up and another bonus punch is you bring an example heirloom toy with you!
April 4, 11, 17, and 25, 7:30 p.m. – What are your favorite toy-themed movies? Visit our website or Facebook page to cast your vote through February 28, then join us each week in April as we present the top 4 films! We’ll be watching the films “slumber party style,” so bring a comfy pillow and your appetite for popcorn, candy, and fun!
