Wilmington College Bands

Wilmington College is pleased to announce our commitment to the growth, expansion, and promotion of our newly emerging band programs. This initiative is a result of both student interest in pursuing instrumental music activities and the College’s responsibility to continue promotion of the musical arts on our campus and in the Wilmington community.

Marching Band

Pioneer the marching band at Wilmington College – Be a part of the legacy!

Do you want to make history? We are delighted to announce the debut of Wilmington College’s marching band, and we’re inviting YOU to become part of our tradition. The marching band is scheduled to “Take the Field” in the Fall of 2021. Our members will serve as musical ambassadors and representatives at home football games and select events throughout the fall semester, in cooperation with other ensembles comprising the Wilmington College Bands. Members will also participate in a Pre-Season camp, which takes place the week prior to campus move-ins before the start of the fall semester. Membership is open to all students, regardless of academic interest, with experience playing a standard band instrument:

  • Flute/Piccolo
  • Bb Clarinet
  • Saxophone (alto/tenor/baritone)
  • Trumpet
  • Horn/Mellophone
  • Trombone
  • Baritone/Euphonium
  • Tuba/Sousaphone
  • Drumline*
  • Color Guard/Dance/Twirlers*

*NOTE: Students interested in drumline or color guard/dance/twirling may need to audition for placement. Please contact Director Stephen Wadsack for audition details or questions.

Some of these instruments can be provided by the College for a small fee, or rented for the duration of the school year from the local music store. School-owned instruments are signed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
