Transfer Opportunity Initiative


Are there specific requirements to apply for the Transfer Opportunity Initiative?


  • You must graduate with an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • You are required to have a minimum GPA of a 2.75
  • You must submit a FAFSA with an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of $0.
  • You must visit campus and meet with our Transfer Admission Team.

Will I need to complete a FAFSA to be considered for the Transfer Opportunity Initiative?

Yes, a FAFSA must be submitted to Wilmington College in order to determine financial aid and eligibility for the program.


Is there a priority deadline for submitting my FAFSA?

Yes, May 1 is  the priority deadline for submitting a FAFSA to be considered for the Transfer Opportunity Initiative.


If I am accepted into the Initiative, will I be required to live on campus?

All students accepted into the Transfer Opportunity Program are required to live on campus, with their cost of room and board covered.

Students will live with other transfer students as part of a college provided community.


I plan on be a part-time student at Wilmington College, can I qualify for the initiative and aid as a part-time student?

No, in order to qualify for any type of Wilmington College aid including the Transfer Opportunity Initiative you must be a full-time degree seeking student.


To qualify for the initiative, do I have to be on Ohio Resident? Or do I only have to attend and Ohio College/Institution?

In order to qualify for the initiative, you must be a resident of Ohio. You are able to attend an out-of-state institution while maintaining an Ohio Residency and still qualify.


If I qualify for the initiative, will I have to take out any loans?

Yes, though the college is providing significant financial aid and assistance, you will have to utilize your $7,500 Federal Stafford Loan eligibility.


I have applied for the college; how quickly will I know if I am admitted into the program?

We are able to make an admission decision once we have all required application materials.
