It’s The Addams Family, the Musical! The Wilmington College-Community Summer Theatre invites you to join us as we present the new musical based on the beloved cartoons of Charles Addams. Our production staff and gifted performers are eager to put their ghoulish stamp on this fun and eerie musical that takes a hysterical look at what defines normal.
The performances for The Addams Family are set for July 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30 pm, and July 16 at 2:30 pm in the Hugh G. Heiland Theatre on the Wilmington College campus. The Addams Family takes audiences into the lovable family of creepy kooks who are alive (?) and well and living in Central Park. The family, led by the elegantly gaunt and seemingly undead Morticia and her ever-devoted husband Gomez, is in turmoil. Their daughter Wednesday, now 18, finds herself falling in love. When the teen invites her new boyfriend over with his “normal” family to get better acquainted with the Addams household, comic chaos (including everything from mixed-up potions to a scorching tango) ensues.
Directed by theatre alum, Cherie Cooper-Darragh 85’, with artistic design by Wynn Alexander and Becky Haines, musical direction by Matt Spradlin and featuring the choreography of Cole Haugh, The Addams Family promises to delight audiences as we recreate this loveable and slightly creepy family.
