Major Authors: Toni Morrison

TTH 11:20 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.

Instructor: Ursula McTaggart

In this class, I will try to convince you that Toni Morrison was the greatest American writer. Maybe you’ll agree, and maybe you’ll disagree, but you’ll definitely read a lot of Toni Morrison! Morrison is a profound and complex writer whose novels educate us on African American history, racism, the legacy of slavery, relationships, among many other things. We will read The Bluest Eye, Beloved, Jazz, Paradise, and Sula, and think about Morrison’s place in American literary history.
