Topics in Professional Writing: Technical Writing

T/R 9:40 to 11:10 a.m. (online synchronous)

Instructor: Marcie Rovan

Writing for college classes is different from writing for the workplace. In this course, we will advance on the writing skills students have developed in EN 101 and apply them to a new genre, technical writing. Students will learn how to communicate technical information clearly, effectively, and accessibly. The course will address questions of audience and purpose, organization, formatting, and visual design. We will learn out to write a process description, a research report, a proposal, and a cover letter. Students will work collaboratively to present technical information both orally and in writing.

This course is online synchronous, which means that we will meet virtually during our scheduled class time.
