Wilmington College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer in the Athletic Department on the main campus in Wilmington.  This is a full time, exempt level position.

The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for team medical coverage, training room supervision, clinic instruction, supervision of student athletic trainers and assisting the head athletic trainer with administrative duties.  Additional duties include:

  • Assist with supervising and maintaining training room facilities, equipment, and supplies
  • Assists with coordinating athletic training services to all intercollegiate athletic teams
  • Supervise and provide clinical education for athletic training students
  • Coordinate and maintain records on athletes including pre-participation exam forms, injury evaluations, and rehab/treatment records and coach’s reports
  • Assist with evaluation of athletic training majors
  • Provide information to visiting teams about athletic training services provided here at Wilmington College
  • Attend practices and games of assigned sports
  • Travel with assigned sports as needed
  • Coordinate AT health coverage for non-contact intercollegiate sporting events
  • Direct/assist coaches and equipment manager in selecting protective equipment
  • Responsible for duties assigned by the AT Program Director and Director of Athletics

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree plus minimum of 1 year of NATA-BOC certification and be Ohio licenses (or eligible).  Evidence of management experience in broad range of activities.  Excellent communication skills both verbally and written to a diverse population.  Willingness to become an integral part of the College community and the community at large.  Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to lead and supervise staff.
