Student Government Association (SGA)

It is the responsibility of Wilmington College's SGA to serve as the representative voice of the student population; to encourage understanding and respect for the Quaker tradition of peace, service, and inner direction; to recognize and aid worthy student organizations; and to promote pride in the College. The SGA seeks to serve all the students' desires for improved student services and academic programs, as well as to promote honest and open communications among students, faculty, administrators, and staff. The SGA Steering Committee is also responsible for the allocation of the student activity fee. All registered and enrolled students of Wilmington College main campus are members of the Student Government Association.
Any member of the SGA has the right to present a concern or grievance in accordance with the SGA Bylaws (Article I,Section I). Any member of SGA has the right to appeal a decision in accordance with the SGA Bylaws (Article I, Section II).
The SGA Board meets every Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.in the SGA office. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.

Quatez Scott-Student Body President
Quatez is a senior at Wilmington from Xenia, OH. While studying Communication Arts concentrating in Public Relations/Journalism, Quatez has been a part of Greek life on campus, choir, theatre, An Administrative Resident Assistant, Resident Student Association trustee. He has helped on the Relay for Life planning committee, the Presidential Search Committee as the student body representative and now serves as the Student Body President. Off campus, Quatez is a professional speaker and advocate for foster care children and serves on the board of trustees for C.H.O.I.C.E.s Inc., a not-for-profit foster care agency. After graduation, “Q” plans to attain a Master’s degree in Public Administration
Emily Heizer- Student Body Vice President
Emily is from Lynchburg, OH. She is a junior here at Wilmington College studying Agriculture Education. She is a Student Ambassador for the admissions office, a member of the Aggies and 4-H clubs and is also an active member of the Delta Theta Sigma Lil Sis sorority on campus.
Rachel Kent- VP of Administration
Rachel Kent is a senior at Wilmington College, majoring in Political Science with an International Concentration and minors in Peace Studies, Religion & Philosophy and History. During her time at Wilmington, Rachel has been involved in the Service Leader Executive Board, Gay-Straight Alliance, STAND, and the Quaker Leader Scholars Program. She also is a Resident Assistant on campus, works at the Quaker Heritage Center, and is a member of the Honors Program and the Green Key Honor Society.
Matthew Bates- VP of Finance
Matt is a senior from Cicero, Indiana majoring in Business Administration. Matt is a four year member of the men’s soccer team. He currently serves as the Senior Community Advisor for the Housing and Residence Life Staff, Vice President of Lambda Chi Alpha, Business Statistics Supplemental Instruction Leader, and Student Representative of the college Judicial Board.
Nicole Haines- VP of Public Relations
Nicole Haines is a sophomore. She is currently majoring in Early Childhood Education and hopes to get her Masters in Special Needs Education. She is from Urbana, Ohio, where during the summer months, she works at the Champaign County YMCA in the Before and After Care and also at the City Pool as a lifeguard. Nicole was also a cheerleader her freshmen year on campus.
Kayla Walker- VP of Elections
Kayla is a junior at Wilmington, with a double-major in Psychology and Communications. She attended Lynchburg-Clay High School in Lynchburg, Ohio. Kayla is the Leadership chair for Kappa Delta Sorority and is involved with Psychology Club. She cheers for the Wilmington College Quaker Football, Basketball, and Competition squads. She plans to graduate with her double major, and attend graduate school for psychology.
Garrett Wilson- VP of Faculty, Staff, and Trustees
Garrett is a senior on campus studying Communication Arts-Media Production. He’s part of the housing staff as a Resident Assistant and works at Kings Island as a supervisor for the rides department. Garrett’s hobbies include guitar, long distance running, concert trips and blogging. A career he wishes to partake in the near future is studio production for a record label to help musicians produce albums and singles.
