Record Numbers Attend WC’s Accepted Students Day

466 Guests Gain Additional Insight into the College Scores of students that already are committed to attending Wilmington College and others that are close to a decision spent Saturday (April 18) on campus gaining additional insight into WC at its annual Accepted Students Day. The 466 guests— including 157 students — that made reservations represents the largest number to attend what typically is one of the last campus visit days for high school seniors considering Wilmington College. In fact, so many reservations were made that the program was split into two sessions. They heard from President Jim Reynolds and 1965 alumnus Robert Touchton, chair of the Board of Trustees, in addition to student body president Micaela Wright and Tina Garland, a 1987 alumnus and director of admission. The students and their families also attended academic sessions of interest that featured current students and faculty from respective areas that offered a more detailed picture of what future WC students can expect — including the many opportunities for hands-on learning outside the classroom. Scholarship recognition was given to the numerous students qualifying for merit and other institutional aid. Also, everyone ate lunch in the Student Dining Hall and had a photo opportunity with Reynolds and the Quakerman mascot. In addition, much was available with regard to the business of formally enrolling, including opportunities to pay deposits and finalize financial aid, secure class registration packets and visit residence halls and other campus facilities. Also, in addition to receiving a complimentary WC T-shirt, many families took advantage of the bookstore being open to stock up on Wilmington College items before their next campus visit this summer for summer orientation. Any prospective students still considering Wilmington College for this fall should contact the Admission Office as soon as possible.
