Women's track leads WC's Academic All-OAC contingent

AUSTINTOWN – The Wilmington College women’s track team was well represented on the Academic All-OAC team released by the league today (May 22). They were 47 percent of the total WC contingent. (Full Team)
Led by senior Anna Benton (Xenia, OH/Dominion Academy), who achieved a 4.0 GPA, the women’s track team had eight of Wilmington 17 student-athletes. Joining Benton were Elise Bernhard (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marion, 3.60), Liz Delehanty (Euclid, OH/Villa Angela St. Joseph, 3.92), Brittany Gibbons (Pleasant Plain, OH/Blanchester, 3.51), Sarah Murphy (West Liberty, OH/West Liberty, 3.83), Jenna Parlette (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg, 3.5), Chelsea Sites (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington, 3.73) and Tricia Steffen (Baltimore, OH/Liberty Benton, 3.92).
Two of the four student-athletes on the men’s track team – Jacob Boehm (Blanchester, OH/McNicholas) and Nate Godby (Goshen, OH/Goshen) – recorded a GPA of 4.0. Jake Sydnor (Batavia, OH/Clermont Northeastern, 3.52) and Chad Hirschauer (Cincinnati, OH/Milford, 3.55) were the other two track members.
Baseball and softball each had two members on the academic team. Brandon Arehart (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington, 3.97) and Clay Cleaver (Pleasant Plain, OH/Little Miami, 3.75) represented baseball, while Danielle Monnier (Houston, OH/Houston, 3.63) and Jess Clutter (Englewood, OH/Northmont, 3.90) represented baseball.
Kaitlyn Lentz (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg, 3.96) represented the women’s tennis team.
The award winners are varsity athletes that are at least sophomore or higher in class standing and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.50.
